Crystal are usually viewed from the outside. This demonstration instead places the camera inside the lattice and explores it from a first-person perspective.

The symmetry of the crystal is revealed through geometric patterns. Some directions are atomically dense while others sparse.

The current visualization shows an FCC crystal viewed along the [111] direction. Future versions may allow exploration of different crystal structures, orientations, and viewing parameters to better illustrate how crystallographic symmetry influences the geometry perceived from within the lattice.
